A friend of mine has been using his PS4 controller and InputMapper on his PC (Windows 10) to great success for some time now. Today, Windows completely stopped recognizing the controller. In the Device manager, you see the Wireless Controller driver it had been using.

Thanks for the reply,

I'm not using any type of Dongle, my PC has built in Bluetooth and I am using the Bluetooth of the controller.

I am using the PlayStation 4 Dualshock controller, the standard one, I'm not sure of any specifics of the controller.

Usually a device like Bluetooth requires a software driver for the operating system to recognize it. In the meantime, let's check if the Bluetooth device will still work if we Roll Back the driver. Follow the steps below:

  1. On Ask me anything, type Device Manager then press Enter.
  2. Click on Bluetooth tree to expand.
  3. Look for the Bluetooth device, Right-click then select Properties.
  4. Click on the Driver tab, look for the Roll Back Driver button, and click on it.
  5. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect and check if the issue persists.

Let us know if the solution above works for you.

Hi John,

There are a few options that you can perform to make your Bluetooth work. Just to verify, were you able to follow the steps provided by Sher Amo on this thread?

This is also an issue for me too. I also use a ps4 controller with win10, and it works perfectly find on its own. But everytime there is an update, the controller would stop functioning via bluetooth. Under bloothtooh, it says wireless controller connected, but none of the key would respond. The only fix i know is do a clean installation and update everything before plug in the controller via bluetooth. This is my 2nd clean installation already, and I hope there is a better fix.(Rollback isnt available)

I have tried the steps provided in this thread but it did not fix the issue. Also tried reinstalling the wireless controller driver, and it did not fix the issue. The only way I can get the controller to work again is a clean installation of qindow. Then install wireless controller driver after window is fully updated.

On a side note: window is asking me to update again, is there a way to stop the reminder until I find a fix to this. This is actually my 3rd clean installation, because I accidentally click shutdown n update last time.
